Will~ison: Board voted to reserve $.~ million mii~mun for November <br />applications. Thus, super ditch grant ~~as cut back because board ~~-anted <br />fiu-ther opportunities to exist for consideration in November. There are 3 <br />other letters of interest submitted to Board with intentions of completing <br />applications. <br />Supreme Court Committee on Water Court Reform: Mike Shi<nmin: <br />Subcommittees are worlung on draft language for revisions for Water <br />Court rules; these are in the midst of «orlc, therefore, difficult to report <br />on any conclusions. July 21 meeting scheduled for committee. In <br />general, seems to be moving in the direction of using the water referees <br />more before the case ~~~ould move to «-ater judge: 11so. ~~~orking on <br />requiring eiperts to sign an affidavit to confirm level of objectivity <br />because of concern that some eiperts appear not to be independent <br />enough to assist court i<i proper fact finding. Chief Justice has told <br />Hobbs that the life of the committee shall be eitended beyond August 1 <br />if needed. <br />Ralf Topper: Would like to see the actions before draft is finalized. <br />Jerlce: How ~~ill this info be circulated to Roundtable? <br />Shiimnin: Supreme Court «ebsite; just to give an idea of the ~~-ork <br />involved in this action: one subcommittee has met 16 times: thus. it is <br />difficult to get consensus even among small subcommittees. So, this will <br />be posted on the Supreme Court ~~-ebsite. <br />Heco~: Is it the consensus that people ~~~ould like another round for <br />public comment`? <br />Jerlce: Yes. And would like a presentation to the roundtable. <br />Shimmin: Could perhaps do this at the September meeting. <br />II. August activities and meeting: <br />Bill Jerlce: There ~tii11 be no meeting in Weld County building during our normal <br />meeting day. Therefore, good day to go visit the Gunnison. Metro Roundtable will <br />accompany us as ~~-ell. Monday, August ~ at 9 am «ill meet in Denver; information <br />~~~ill come from State (from Hecoi and Viola at DNR); idea is to take a look at the <br />Gunnison ~~~ith the Gunnison Roundtable; get hotel rooms in Montrose; attend their <br />meeting in Montrose on Monday evening (August 4). We (the South Platte Basin <br />Roundtable) ~~ill also have a presentation to the Gunnison; Metro «;ill also have a <br />presentation. Nei-t morning, will look at perhaps one of their projects; look at the <br />opportunities of the Gunnison with big eyes and to learn as much as possible of that <br />basin while sharing some of the unique needs of the South Platte. <br />Hecoi: Trying to get a head count «ith possible numbers: evei-~Tone should have <br />gotten an email; looking for an accurate count: looking at 2 small passenger vans; <br />state will pay for transportation; everyone on their o«n for hotels. Thus, it is <br />important to rsvp if you plan on going so that plans can be made. Please check email <br />and respond. After final arrangements made, Viola ~~~ill send email ~~ ith details. <br />Bill Jerlce: Yampa meeting follo~ti-up. We have reached out to Yampa after <br />September 2008 meeting and have not heard an~-thing from us. Another idea is to <br />invite them over here for as productive of a tour as «e might have of the South Platte <br />so that «e have some kind of continuit~~° of the discussion and contact. <br />
