Particular
attention should be given to the underpasses and culverts that cross the existing network
of irrigation ditches. There has been historic evidence of erosion and sedimentation in the
channels. This should be monitored and, when necessary, corrected. Finally, there have
been reports of debris, such as tree limbs, large rocks or other types of obstructions,
clogging the facilities. The routine maintenance program helps to control this.
Modifications to entrances, including the construction of trash racks or debris basins,
should be considered and, when appropriate, included in the overall plan implementation

process.

5.2 Phasing

Improvements included in the recommended plan can, and should, be phased. Based on
an evaluation of the flood risk within the Bosley Wash basin, it appears that the highest
priority should be construction of the improvements along F % Road. These
improvements serve to reduce flooding in the immediate vicinity of the roadway. More
importantly, reducing the likelihood of flooding along the road will also reduce the

; )'j,~';il,;:'lf.!ffUi< ~
;.,7..,
,","
" '" 0.
<;""f~",;'~'~J:;.~'~

Page 23

~------\

~

!ill.
