Scope of Work
Town of Walden Water Supply Improvement Project
James Kriss, P.E. -Civil Engineer
Mr. Kriss has 15 years of experience in the civil engineering f field and has provided
design support and project management f or projects including general civil design,
hydraulic evaluations, water, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste,
and construction management projects. Design experience includes raw and potable
water pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, pump station design, layout, and
configuration, wastewater treatment plant improvements and modifications, and
solid waste engineering (landfill and transfer station design) .Hydraulic design
experience includes extensive modeling of several water supply distribution systems,
treated water master planning, hydrology, and hydraulics. Construction management
experience includes Resident Engineer and General Services support for multiple
construction projects.
Gordon McCurry -Senior Hydrogeologist
Dr. McCurry has more than 20 years of experience in groundwater hydrology relating
to water resources evaluation and aquifer remediation. His experience includes the
investigation, characterization, and modeling of aquifer systems f or projects
nationwide. Dr. McCurry's areas of technical expertise include numerical simulation
of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, wellhead protection, aquifer
hydraulics testing and analysis, stream/aquifer interactions, design of groundwater
remediation systems, and regulatory compliance.
Mark McCluskey, P.E. -Project Engineer
Mr. McCluskey was actively involved in the Town of Walden Water Supply
Evaluation and reviewed the Town's water rights portf olio and their legal and
physical reliability. He identif ied alternatives f or Walden to meet their water needs
during drought and f or anticipated growth.
Mr. McCluskey is an environmental engineer who specializes in water resources. His
expertise includes hydrologic modeling. Mr. McCluskey has worked on several
Colorado water supply and water rights investigations. Mr. McCluskey is actively
involved with the South Platte Decision Support System (SPDSS). He has led a team
of engineers and scientists in developing an alluvial groundwater model for the South
Platte Basin extending from Chatfield Reservoir to the Town of Julesburg. Mr.
McCluskey developed a water resource allocation model for a Water Resources
Optimization Study for the Town of Castle Rock and the Castle Pines and Castle Pines
North Metro Districts. The results of the Optimization Study were used to develop a
Water Resources Implementation Plan, a joint project undertaken to fully utilize water
supplies and return flows that are currently unused or under-utilized.
Mr. McCluskey developed basin water supply and demand projections to support the
State of Colorado Inter Basin Compacts (HB 1400) Water Needs Assessment Task. He
worked with the Basin Roundtables to revise and update their water supply and
demand projection through 2050.
7
