location, casing stick-up and other descriptive information pertinent to the measurements will
be noted and recorded in a field notebook.
• The measurements tabulated in a field notebook will be entered into an existing electronic
database of water level measurements by the Groundwater Contractor. Following data QC,
the electronic data will be provided to the State for addition to HydroBase in a format
consistent with previous groundwater level data.
• Thirty-eight SPDSS monitoring wells installed during Phases 1 and 2 and the four Long-term
bedrock monitoring wells from Phase 3 Task 39 previously equipped with water level data
loggers will be visited once in spring 2007 and the data will be downloaded and added to an
electronic database. Following data QC, the electronic data will be tabulated, graphed, and
provided to the State for addition to HydroBase in a format consistent with previous
groundwater level data.
Deliverables:
Task 39.2 Phase 4 Water Level Measurement Technical Memorandum
• The Groundwater Contractor will develop a submittal of up to 10 pages in length (with
additional pages for data tables, figures and appendices) that contains a description of the field
data collection effort and a summary of the water level results. The fail measurement results
will be presented in tabular format comparable to what were presented in Phase 3 Task 39.
Average daily measurements from the water level data.Ioggers that have been installed at 37
alluvial and 5 bedrock monitoring wells also will be presented as hydrographs.
• The Groundwater Contractor will provide a digital copy (in both Microsoft Word and Adobe
Acrobat format) for review and comment by the State. The Groundwater Contractor will
incorporate the State's comments and recommendations and provide a final technical
memorandum, also in digital (Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat) format. The shapefile or
raster data sets created to represent the data in the technical memorandum figures will be
provided and will include supporting metadata descriptions. Data in electronic format suitable
for importation into HydroBase will be provided.
Task 46: Develop Stream Gain/Loss Estimates from Groundwater
Objective:
The objective of this task is to develop estimates of stream gains and losses from groundwater in
the main stem of the South Platte River and its tributaries within the study area. Stream gain or
loss from groundwater is the difference between computed inflows and outflows over specified
reaches for a given time period after adjusting for surface inflows (rainfall runoff, surface water
returns, etc.). The gain or loss from the aquifer is the groundwater discharge to or recharge from
the overlying stream system.
SPDSS_Phase4_gw_SOW_09-I 5-06.doc 3
