~'
~/
commissioners; and, documentation of the review and final mapping procedures. This memorandum
will describe processes used for the entire SPDSS study area and conducted under Phases 1, 2, and 3.
91.5 & 91.6 Working copies of maps and a database containing comments and edits of water
commissioners and water users about irrigated fields, crop types and irrigation service areas. The
maps will include areas covered under Phase 3 and the database will be the final version including
the entire SPDSS study area.
91.6 & 91.8 Final digital files showing the location of all decreed wells greater than 50 gpm
(approximately 11,000) and associated irrigated parcels in the entire SPDSS study area. Wells
assigned to irrigated parcels will be presented using a different color or symbol from those not
assigned to an irrigated parcel. In addition, final digital files showing irrigated parcels attributed with
the source of surface irrigation water for the entire SPDSS study area. The data format and map
presentation will be consistent with other CDSS products.
91.7 & 91.8 Metadata for all GIS deliverables developed in this task using FGDC compliant metadata
format. Included in the metadata will be a description of known data quality problems and a listing
of steps involved in developing each GIS coverage and modifications for inclusion in the SPDSS. A
description of the QA/QC procedure also will be included along with the persons reviewing the
information and the contact of the person responsible for the final review and approval of the
product.
91.8 Meeting notes and attendance sheets from each waiver user meeting.
Ta
Task 93 -Mapping Historic Land Use
Objective:
Historic land use for the 1980s, 1970s, and 1950s--including irrigated areas, water supply, and major
crop types--will be mapped using satellite imagery, historic maps, aerial photography and applicable GIS
data and agricultural statistics.
Background:
Under SPDSS -Tasks 89, 90, and 91, land use and irrigated field boundaries are being developed for the
year 2001. These 2001 data will be used as a point of reference for mapping and attributing irrigated
acreage for three different study periods in the study area.
6
