DSS Component Assessment
4.1.4.2 Temporal/Spatial Scope
CWRAT allows for daily input, modification, and analysis of water information sheets. The viewing
tools permit data in daily, monthly, and annual time steps.
4.1.4.3 System Requirements
CWRAT runs on a PC running Microsoft Windows 95 with Access 97 or greater and in conjunction
with Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape 4.0 or greater.
4.1.4.4 Data Requirements
Typical data required for use in CWRAT include:
• Historic diversion records
• Call and curtailment records
• Decreed and permitted well records
• Structure and rights
• Historic streamflow
• GIS map coverages
4.1.4.5 Specific RGDSS Issues
The CWRAT is appropriate for use in the RGDSS.
4.1.5 Data Extension and Stochastic Data Development
The State is currently evaluating and implementing methods to develop longer periods of record for
data used in planning analysis.
4.1.5.1 Implementation
Estimated diversions, end-of--month reservoir pool, and natural flows will be developed for the five
Western Slope basin planning models. Historical streamflow data will be filled in and extended.
Additionally, stochastic models may be developed to supplement planning input data. Historic data
extension and stochastic data development tools developed for the CRDSS could be applied to data in
the Rio Grande basin to provide extended records following a critical review of associated
assumptions.
4.1.5.2 Temporal/Spatial Scope
Not applicable.
4.1.5.3 System Requirements
Not applicable.
4.1.5.4 Data Requirements
Historic periods of record of streamflow, diversions, end-of--month reservoir pool, evaporation,
temperature, and precipitation will be required.
4.1.5.5 Specific RGDSS Issues
The techniques developed during CRDSS Year 3 will be extensible to the Rio Grande basin following
a critical review of the associated assumptions; however, data and individual models will not.
a454/report/final/comp. doc 07/2&~OS Y-5
