Water Supply Reserve Account -Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007
6. Water Availability and Sustainability -this information is needed to assess the viability and effectiveness of
the water project or activity. Please provide a description of each water supply source to be utilized for, or the
water body to be affected by, the water activity. For water supply sources being utilized, describe its location,
yield, extent of development, and water right status. For water bodies being affected, describe its location,
extent of development, and the expected effect of the water activity on the water body, in either case, the
analysis should take into consideration a reasonable range of hydrologic variation.
The WCSD Wetland Partnership wetland will utilize water from two sources: A 1985 Farmers
Independent Ditch water right (Administration # 49631, Case No. 85CW370) already secured by
CCWCD with 40 ac/ft of water available for recharge in the months of April, May, June & October; and,
two shares of the Farmer's Independent Ditch to be secured by the WCSD (see Exhibit 1). A change of
use of this water right is necessary to apply the water to the intended site during the appropriate
season (April -October).
The point of the diversion for the Farmers Independent Ditch Company is found in the SW 1/4, Section
19, Township 3N, Range 66W of the 6tn P.M.
CCWCD engineering finds that 2 Shares of Farmers Independent Ditch Company will yield 20 Acre/Feet
of Consumptive Use. Recharge diversions from the Farmers Independent Ditch to the WCSD Recharge
Pond are estimated 40 Acre/Feet per year. Yield of 85CW370 decree is defined as 90 cubic feet per
second as diverted from the South Platte River. A portion of the 90 cubic feet per second will be
allocated to the WCSD Recharge Facility.
14
