Additional Information - If you feel you would like to add any additional pertinent information please feel <br />free to do so here. <br />Description of public benefits <br />The Sparks Resenvoir if geotechnical feasible should in addition to providing critical water to sustain <br />agricultural, help alleviate the historical dn-~- up of the strewn during the irrigating season through the private <br />l~uids. The additional eater supplies should have dramatic benefits for water quality, a«d water dependant <br />organisms through and do~~nstrealn of the irrigated lands. Much of the lards do~ilistrealn is public lands, <br />the changnig clinnatic conditions have left much of Vermillion Creek Belo«~ the confluence with Talinnantes <br />dn-~r for much of the year. Historically streanns have benefited from late season streann flows provided as a result <br />of storage. <br />Through the creation Of SB179 The State Legislature recogl>ized and authorized monies to be granted for: <br />^ Studies or analysis of structural, nonstn~ctural, consumptive, and nonconsumptive <br />water needs, projects, or activities; and <br />^ Structural and nonstructural water projects or activities. <br />The legislature also determined that eligible entities included: <br />^ Private (Ununcorporated) -individuals, partnerships, sole proprietors <br />SB 179 again recognized that it is in the public's interest and benefit to help meet the needs of <br />private entities consistent with a major finding of SWSI. <br />9. The ability of smaller, rural water providers and agricultural water users to adequately <br />address their existing and future water needs is sigluficantly affected by their financial <br />abilities. <br />9 <br />
