Water Supply Reserve Account -Grant and Loan Program <br />Water Activity Summary Sheet <br />Applicant: Vermillion Ranch Limited Partnership <br />Amount Requested: $16,000 <br />Water Activity Name: Sparks Reservoir Geoteclulical and Preliminary Feasibility Study <br />Source of Funds: Yampa/White/Green <br />Matching Funds: $3,000 <br />Water Activity Purpose: Study or analysis of a consumptive activity and structural <br />County: Moffat County <br />Drainage Basin: Green River <br />Water Source: Talimantes Creek <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff reconullends approval of up to $16,000 from the Yampa/White/Green Account to help complete the <br />Sparks Reservoir Geotechiucal and Preliminary Feasibility study contingent on resolution of the item in the <br />issues/additional needs section. <br />Water Activity Summary: <br />The Sparks Reservoir Geotechnical and preliminary feasibility study is intended to ascertain any <br />geoteclulical issues related to the dam embanlailent and emergency spillway of the Sparks Resevoir location, <br />and determine the preliminary feasibility based on those results. The Sparks Reservoir is a Conditional <br />storage water right located on Talimantes creek in the far northwestern corner of Colorado. The reservoir is <br />intended to serve agriculture irrigation and other decreed rights. Changing climatic conditions (both drought <br />and earlier than normal runoff patterns) have greatly impacted the ability to have a dependable water supply. <br />Tlus study will serve to update the existing preliminary resevoir design costs based on the current <br />construction cost environment and incorporate any design changes based on the geotechnical study <br />The Sparks Reservoir Geotchnical study and Preliminary Analysis: <br />Total project cost: $19000 <br />Amount requested: $16000 <br />Cash match: $3000 <br />Project location: Sparks, Colorado (County of Moffat) <br />
