Calibration Log
During the calibration process, a log of the change s made to the MODSIM prototype was maintained.
The following is a summary of the calibration log.
Date Description
12-14-94 Changed the system efficiencies for the Uncompahgre Project Canals from 0. 6
?
(GUNMOD) to 0.45. This modification was made to better replicate actual histori c
diversions as determined from the CRDSS database.
12-28-94 Changed the procedure for freezing model links after the natural flow solutio n
?
phase. There is no longer a constraini ng upper bound on a natural flow link durin g
the storage allocation step. This enable d natural flow demands to receive "free "
reservoir releases resulting from flood and other operational release targets.
Relocated the GUNMOD inflows for the North Fork at nodes 21033 and 21035 to a
?
location above Paonia Reservoir.
Temporarily removed non-account reservoi rs (Fairview and Cerro) from the mode l
?
to better analyze the delivery of Project 7 water from the Cimarron Canal and th e
Gunnison Tunnel.
Added demands to several links in the Fruitland Mesa area. These were missin g
?
from earlier model versions.
Tested Blue Mesa Reservoir operations by using historic end-of-month storag e
?
contents from USGS Water Supply Papers as target storage levels. Determine d
need to verify the monthly storage da ta provided by the DNR and stored in th e
CRDSS database.
Modified the protocol for operating Project 7 to take Cimarron Canal direct flow
?
first, UVWUA storage in Blue Mesa (v ia the Gunnison Tunnel) second, and storag e
in Cerro Reservoir last.
Modified linkages to insulat e the UVWUA account in Bl ue Mesa Reservoir and th e
?
M&I account in Ridgway from the operationa l releases specified by target storag e
levels.
12-29-94 Tested alternative storage targets for Taylor Park Reservoir.
?
Filled in data gaps for unit evaporation rates for Taylor Park, Blue Mesa, Ridgway ,
?
and Paonia reservoirs for 1970 through 1990.
Tested alternative storage targets for Ridgway Reservoir by setting at maximum
?
storage level.
Added a new link on the North Fork of the Gunnison to check against the gage d
?
flows of the North Fork at Somerset.
2
A275 02.23.94 1.15-27 Fosha, Ritsch
