Title
SPDSS Task 69 - Estimate Reservoir and Stock Evaporation
Description
The purpose of Task 69 is to estimate the capacity of smaller, non-key reservoirs and stock ponds, combine them by Water District into “aggregated” reservoirs, and estimate their evaporative losses.

Location of Aggregate Reservoirs and Stock Ponds for Surface Water Modeling
In previous CDSS surface water modeling efforts, aggregate reservoirs and stock ponds were
generally located downstream of the aggregation area and above key streamflow gages. Key
streamflow gages were identified in the memorandum Task 2 -Identify Key Streamflow Gages
and Estimate Streamflows for Missing Records, September 20, 2004. Table 8 identifies the
recommended surface water model network location, based on key streamflow gage where
applicable, for the aggregate reservoirs and stock ponds. The standard naming convention for
aggregate reservoirs is WD_ARPxxx, where WD is the water district, ARP stands for
"Aggregate Reservoir Platte, xxx is a number assigned from 1 to the total number of aggregate
reservoirs. Likewise, the identifier for aggregate stock ponds is WD_ASPxxx.
Table 8
Aggregate Locations for Surface Water Modeling
Water
A re ate ID District Downstream Ga a ~~
O1_ARP001,
O1 ASP001 1 06759910 -South Platte River at Coo er Brid e, nr Balzac
02_ARP002
02 ASP002 2 06754000 -South Platte River near Kersey
03 ARP003 Upper 3 06752000 -Cache la Poudre R. at Mouth of Canyon
03 ARP004
03 ASP003 Lower 3 06752500 -Cache la Poudre River near Greele
04 ARP005 Upper 4 06738000 -Big Thompson R at Mouth of Canyon
04 ARP006
04 ASP004 Lower 4 06744000 - Bi Thom son River at Mouth, nr La Salle
OS ARP007 U er 5 06724000 - St. Vrain Creek at L ons
OS_ARP008
OS_ASP005 Lower 5 06731000 - St. Vrain Creek at Mouth, nr Platteville
06 ARP009 U er 6 See Note 2 below
06_ARPO 10
06 ASP006 Lower 6 See Note 3 below
07 ARP011 Upper 7 06719505 -Clear Creek at Golden
07 ARP012
07 ASP007 Lower 7 06720000 -Clear Creek at Mouth, near Derb
08_ARP013
08 ASP008 8 06708000 -South Platte River at Waterton
09 ARP014 U er 9 06710500 -Bear Creek at Morrison
09_ARPO 15
09 ASP009 Lower 9 06711500 -Bear Creek at Mouth, at Sheridan
23 ARP016
23 ASPO 10 23 06696000 -South Platte River near Lake Geor e
48 ARP017 48 06657500 -Laramie River near Glendeve
64_ARP018
64 ASP011 64 06764000 -South Platte River at Julesburg
80 ARP019
80 ASP012 80 06701500 -South Platte River below Cheesman Lake
47 ARP020
47 ASP013 47 06620000 -North Platte River near Northgate
Page 13 of 14
