Changes made to the original input call data set were color-coded for
transparency and ease of review by the Division 1 office.
1. The electronic copy of main stem South Platte River call records was reviewed and
compared to the annual River Call sheets to correct any typos or other errant entries.
2. The 1950 to 2005 call data set was enhanced to include:
a. Estimated South Platte River Compact calls affecting Water District 64 were added to
the historical call record prior to the recent period (2005 to present) when the
Division 1 Office officially began recording Compact calls. The potential Compact
calls were based on recorded daily stream flows at the Julesburg Combined gage (ID
06764000) of less than 120 cfs over the April 1 to October 15 period. To reiterate,
these calls only affect Water District 64.
b. An `X' in the Districts Affected for the Water District in which the call is placed,
which did not occur consistently until the early- to mid-1990s. This indicator was
added for consistency with current call standards.
c. A revised call location to reflect location of call at downstream senior right location if
the call is a bypass to Jay Thomas/Western Mutual Ditch or Sterling No. 1, as
described below:
• Administration of the upper South Platte River basin is typically controlled by the
senior rights at the Jay Thomas Ditch (6/1/1865 - 18 cfs) and Western Mutual
Ditch (5/5/1866 - 27.45 cfs and 8/10/1871 - 71.12 cfs), both of which have
headgates located on the South Platte River above the confluence with St. Vrain
Page 5 of 14
