Chambers Lake
Chambers Lake has storage water rights in Water District 3 and Water District 48, both located
in Division 1. The decreed volume of Chambers Lake per the Water District 3 water rights is
8,854 acre-feet absolute. The decreed volume of Chambers Lake per the Water District 48 water
rights is 11,478 acre-feet absolute. In a telephone conversation with George Varra, Water
Commissioner for Water District 3, it was learned that the fill rights exercised for Chambers
Lake are those in Water District 3. Since George Varra has been the Water Commissioner in
District 3 he has not filled Chambers Lake in excess of the District 3 water rights. The only way
water can get from Water District 48 to Chambers Lake is through Skyline Ditch. The decreed
uses associated with the District 3 water rights are irrigation and all beneficial uses. The decreed
use associated with the District 48 water rights is irrigation.
