Rocky Ridge Lake, Kluver Reservoir, WSSC Reservoirs No. 3 and 4, and Black
Hollow Reservoir release stored water back to the Larimer County Canal. Curtis Lake and
Richard Lake release water to the Larimer Weld Irrigation Canal through Long Pond.
Lindenmeier Lake releases water directly to the Cache la Poudre River. WSSC plains reservoirs
are used for storage of company water, equalization throughout the WSSC System, and exchange
with other entities in the Water District.
WATER RIGHTS
Direct flow and storage water rights for the key structures discussed herein are presented in the
following section. In addition to direct flow and storage water rights, WSSC owns units of C-BT
water and 6.25 shares of Jackson Ditch Company water. Some private shareholders along the
System individually own C-BT shares which can be delivered through the WSSC System and the
Pierce and Collins Laterals.
1) WSSC Mountain System
Long Draw Reservoir
Long Draw Reservoir's total decreed volume is 10,801 acre-feet absolute. A summary of the
storage water rights associated with Long Draw Reservoir is presented in Table 3. The decreed
uses associated with these water rights include irrigation, municipal, industrial, domestic,
recreation, fishery and all beneficial uses. The 6,600 acre-foot water right, resulting from the
enlargement of Long Draw Reservoir, is fully reusable per decree amendments effectuated in the
Reuse Plan with Platte River Power Authority (PRPA), as discussed in the Operational
Information Section. WSSC representatives identified the source for Long Draw Reservoir
water rights as La Poudre Pass Creek, not Long Draw Creek, as is listed in the HydroBase water
rights tabulation.
Table 3
Storage Water Rights for Long Draw Reservoir
Source Appropriation Adjudication Administration Decreed Amount Absolute
Date Date No. (ac-ft)
Long Draw 6/5/1922 12/18/1945 26453.00000 4
201
Creek ,
Long Draw
Creek g/31/1965 12/31/1977 46386.42246 6,600
Colorado Water Rights Tabulation
WaterSupply&Storage Memo.doc
13 of 21
