2) Morrison Seep Ditch (no Structure ID) <br />The Morrison Seep Ditch runs north through several properties, bringing seep water into <br />the Lower Latham Reservoir from Beebe Draw and Milton Reservoir. The Lower Latham <br />Ditch Company is not aware of any owners of Morrison Ditch in particular, although <br />Lower Latham Reservoir Company has filed on it. The District 2 Water Commissioner <br />estimates that the ditch continuously contributes approximately 8-10 cfs to Lower <br />Latham Reservoir. <br />Length: Morrison Seepage Ditch is 5 miles long <br />Capacity: The Capacity has not been estimated for this ditch. Hydrobase reports that the average <br />flow (1996-2000) is 7.7 cfs, with a maximum recorded flow of 12 cfs. <br />Conveyance Efficiency: No conveyance efficiency information is available for this ditch. <br />Irrigated Acreage and Crop Type: There are no crops irrigated by Morrison Seepage Ditch. <br />Ground Water Use: There is no ground water used along this ditch. <br />Return Flow Location: All water is directed to Lower Latham Reservoir. <br />Measurement Device: There is no measurement device on this ditch. <br />Hydrobase Data: The monthly data available in HydroBase over the 1950-2002 period of <br />record pertaining to Morrison Seepage Ditch includes the total diversions between1996 <br />and 2000. The average diversion for 1996-2000 period of record is 3,098 ac-ft and the <br />maximum monthly diversion on record through the structure is 737.9 ac-ft. <br />3) Lower Latham Reservoir (Structure ID 023858) <br />The Lower Latham Reservoir is filled by Morrison Seepage Ditch and the Union Ditch. <br />Morrison Seepage Ditch water is from natural seepage from Milton Reservoir, and Beebe Draw. <br />Water from Union Ditch is delivered under a contract agreement with the Union Ditch Company. <br />Under the agreement, storage water is delivered to Lower Latham Reservoir from Union Ditch <br />via the south extension of the ditch. The Union Ditch Company does not hold storage rights to <br />water in Lower Latham Reservoir nor does it use any of the water which the company delivers to <br />the reservoir. The Lower Latham Reservoir Company has 156 shares of stock. <br />On April 12, 1973 the Lower Latham dam spillway failed, releasing 5,600 of to the South Platte <br />River. The river's peak flow from this event was approximately 15,000 cfs. The dam was <br />repaired over the winter and was in operation for the 1974 irrigation season.
