Description
The Lower Latham Ditch and Reservoir System has been identified as a key structure for the South Platte Decision Support System (SPDSS) consumptive use and surface water modeling efforts. The Superintendent of the ditch company is more often in contact <br />with these individuals during periods of storage and during periods when direct flow calls have <br />been placed downstream on the South Platte River. <br />OPERATIONAL INFORMATION <br />The general operating strategy for the Lower Latham Ditch and Reservoir System in a typical <br />year is as follows: <br />Irrigation Season <br />The irrigation season usually begins near April, 1st, where between 40-50 cfs are pulled into the <br />Lower Latham Ditch from the South Platte River to irrigate fields. Irrigation demand increases <br />through April and by the first week in May the ditch is typically being run near 200 cfs. Between <br />May and September, the ditch is operated to run near 210 cfs, with direct flows from the South <br />Platte being the primary water source.
