Annual Diversions for the 1950 to 2002 study period:
Average (1950-2002) = 15,622 acre-feet
Maximum (1993) = 19,545 acre-feet
Minimum (2000) = 5,547 acre-feet.
The low diversions in 2000 were the result of the tunnel collapse in early June. Monthly
diversions for Laramie Poudre Tunnel are presented in Table 2.
WATER RIGHTS
The Laramie Poudre Tunnel has decreed direct flow water rights for a total of 300.00 cfs from
the Big Laramie River. The other components of the Laramie River System have additional
decreed direct flow water rights. As a result of the Laramie River Compact, the total decreed
capacity is limited to 300 cfs. There is no associated storage in the Laramie River basin. The
Laramie Poudre Tunnel water right is relatively senior on the Colorado River. Table 1 presents
the details of the direct flow water rights for the Laramie Poudre Tunnel and the associated
Laramie River System.
LaramiePoudreTunnel.doc 6 of 10
