Lone Tree Reservoir was constructed in 1881 and
is located in Water District 4 in Boulder County approximately 12.5 miles down ditch on the
south side of the ditch.
Lone Tree Reservoir has the Priority 1 filling right on the river and fills every year. Johnstown
has a pipeline into Lone Tree Reservoir at gage height 6 feet that is used to provide municipal
supplies to the town. Storage releases are made to the Home Supply Ditch and to Lake Ditch
below the reservoir (see Figure 1). Lake Ditch is the main conveyance for irrigation water
supplies for shareholders and irrigates about 80 percent to 90 percent of the lands below Lone
Tree Reservoir. Reservoir releases to the Home Supply Ditch are limited to the top 2 feet of
active storage (approximately 1,268 ac-ft). Irrigators under the Home Supply Ditch below the
reservoir are typically provided late-season irrigation deliveries from the Company's exchange
reservoir system, as described below and in the Operational Information section.
Capacity:
Total Storage: 9,268 ac-ft
Active Storage: 9,068 ac-ft
Dead Storage: 200 ac-ft
Inlet Capacity: 325 cfs
Home Supply Ditch Operating Memorandum.doc 6 of 15 February 16, 2005
