holders use these discharges for irriga tion use subject to the terms of the <br />FRICO/Northglenn exchange, as discussed in the Operational Information section. <br />There are approximately 6,343 irrigated acres of predominantly grass pasture and alfalfa <br />under the Bull Canal, based on the SPDSS 2001 irrigated acreage assessment. Irrigated <br />acreage identified unde r the Bull Canal was at a ma ximum of 15,235 acres in the <br />assessment of 1956 aerial photography. <br /> Big Dry Creek and German Ditch <br />Acreage assigned to the German Ditch (W DID 0200872), based on the SPDSS irrigated <br />acreage assessment, ranges from 868 acres in 1956 to 678 acres of predominantly alfalfa <br />in 2001. <br />WATER RIGHTS <br />There are numerous direct flow and storage wate r rights associated with the FRICO – Standley <br />Lake system. There have been numerous changes a nd transfers to and from this system due to <br />the urbanization of the surrounding area. The direct flow water rights asso ciated with the three <br />Tables 3 4 5 <br />major feeder canals to Standley Lake are summarized in , , and . The storage rights <br />Table 5 <br />for Standley Lake are listed in . Standley Lake is decreed fo r uses that include irrigation, <br />municipal, commercial, industrial, domestic , recreation, fishery, wildlife, power, and <br />augmentation. <br />The majority of the direct flow and storage ri ghts associated with the FRICO-Standley Lake <br />system have been changed to municipal and othe r uses. These senior righ ts support much of the <br />municipal growth within the Standley Lake Citie s.
