Recent Retail Water Delivery by the North Table Mountain Water and
Sanitation District:
Table 1 shows total annual water use by account type for the 2000 through 2006 period,
with residential users accounting for the majority of water use. In addition to billed water
use, unmetered water is used by NTM to flush their system. Additionally, contractors use
water for grading and construction which is metered but not entered into the billing
database. Historically water use not included in the billing database has been small, but
in recent years this use has been increasing.
Total annual water use from the billing database is show in Table 2. The effects of
several drought years can be seen in the 31 percent decrease in total water use that
occurred between 2000 and 2004. Total water use increased in 2005 and 2006, though
per capita use remained lower than pre-drought levels (see Table 3).
Table 1: Total Annual Water Use by Account Type (1,000,000 Gallons)

Year Residential
(owners) Residential
(Renters)
Commerical
Industrial
Greenhouse
Irrigation
Other
2000 467 10 116 105 27 28
2001 445 10 74 100 29 33 0.3
2002 455 11 41 82 28 24 0.3
2003 404 13 31 81 28 31 0.3
2004 345 9 29 75 28 31 0.3
2005 437 12 40 72 26 41 0.4
2006 529 12 50 84 25 72 0.5
Table 2: Total Annual Water Use by All Accounts

Year 1,000,000
Gallons
Acre-ft
2000 753 2311
2001 691 2121
2002 642 1971
2003 588 1804
2004 517 1587
2005 628 1927
2006 772 2368
Water Source: Surface water through a contract with Denver Water as described in
section 5 d below.
4.
