Sheman
DNR Executive Director
Jennifer L. Gimbel
CWCB Director
Dan McAuliffe
CWCB Deputy Director
I am writing in response to your letter dated April 7, 2009 concerning the commitment of CWCB
funding. Fortunately, at this time we can guarantee that funds will be available for projects that have
been approved by our Board but not yet contracted.
In the past, we have always had funds available for approved projects. As you are aware, money
continues to be taken out of the CWCB's Water Project Loan Program to help meet the state's
budget shortfalls. We have never been in this situation before and are unsure of the ultimate impact
to our program. Therefore, any increases in loan funds to current projects, such as yours, may not be
available.
Once the Knouth Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation Proj ect is approved by the State Engineer's Office,
we will be able to execute a loan contract with Supply Irrigating Ditch Company.
Sincerely,
Anna Mauss, P.E.
Water Supply Planning and Finance Section
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Cc: Mike Serlet
Water Supply Protection • Watershed Protection & Flood Mitigation • Stream & Lake Protection • Water Supply Planning & Finance
Water Conservation & Drought Planning • Intrastate Water Management & Development
