USGS ID: ADANETCO -Adams Tunnel at East Portal -Computed Flow (October <br />1996 -present) <br />Datum: 8,250.0 feet above sea level NGVD29 <br />Tunnel Outlet: 10 foot Parshall flume equipped with an A35 Stephens recorder and <br />satellite linked monitoring system (Parshall flume, measurement recording device, and <br />associated concrete weir housed inside a large wooden structure constructed to protect <br />system from inclement weather and vandalism). <br />Conveyance Efficiency: The Tunnel is lined with aone-foot thick concrete lining. <br />HydroBase Data: Diversions for Adams Tunnel are reported as continuously monitored <br />streamflow records and as administrative records by Colorado DWR. <br />• Continuously monitored streamflow data for Station 09013000 are available for daily <br />and monthly diversions from prior to 1950 through September 1996. <br />• Continuously monitored streamflow data for Station ADANETCO is available from <br />October 1996 through present. Administrative data for Structure 5104634 are <br />available for daily and monthly diversions for 1976 through 2002. <br />• Both continuously monitored streamflow data and administrative data are available <br />through Colorado DWR HydroBase. <br />• Data provided by NCWCD are available for monthly diversions from 1976 through <br />2002. <br />Available diversion data for Adams Tunnel was reviewed and compared to identify the <br />best available data source (shown in Figure 2). The preferred set of data identified for <br />Adams Tunnel was a combination of the continuously monitored streamflow data for <br />Stations 09013000 and ADANETCO. When compared to the other available information <br />sources, the streamflow data at Stations 09013000 and ADANETCO displayed the <br />following characteristics: <br />• The longest period of record, <br />• The most complete set of data prior to and throughout the period of study, <br />• Corresponding monthly and daily diversion data available, and <br />• Continues to be operated as a recording device through present. <br />AdamsTunnel.doc 5 of 9 <br />
