The objective of this task is as follows: <br />Meet with large and/or critical ditch companies in the San Luis Talley to discuss their <br />facilities and operations. <br />On March 10, 1999, an interview was conducted with Mr. Leland Holman, Corporate Secretary <br />for the Manassa Land and Irrigation Company (Company). The purpose of this interview was to <br />develop a better understanding of Ditch Company facilities and operations such that this <br />information could be reflected in surface water modeling efforts associated with the Rio Grande <br />Decision Support System (RGDSS). The following discussion summarizes information <br />developed during this interview. <br />Ditch Company Structure and Organization <br />The Manassa Land and Irrigation Company is an incorporated, not-for-profit Mutual ditch <br />Company. The Company was originally incorporated under the name of the Manassa Ditch <br />Company in the early 1870's. The name of the Company was changed to its current name in the <br />year 1902.
