Water Supply Reserve Account (WSRA) <br />--Consideration of WSRA Applications: <br />• Colorado Foundation for Water Education (www.cfwe.org) <br />Nicole Seltzer, Executive Director of CO Foundation for Water Education <br />--Reminder about tour of South Platte River on June 19, 20; registration <br />forms available, scholarships available; Denver to Brush to Sterling, night <br />in Sterling, through Greeley, water planning issues, ag issues <br />--Solicitation of stakeholder input and advice through publication of a <br />South Platte Edition of Headwaters Magazine. <br />--See background and information on website: www.cfwe.ora <br />--Users of products are 5,000-6,000; members=350 paying <br />Proposal for application: $16,019 from Metro and from South Platte; <br />Metro has approved their $16,019; <br />The proposed publication on the South Platte would be published in <br />October 2008; 6,500 conies printed; <br />Description of project: <br />An edition of Headwaters magazine focused on the South Platte <br />basin to be used as a tool for the Roundtables to teach basin <br />residents and readers statewide about the challenges facing the <br />basin; <br />To create a common platform for Roundtable members to seek <br />input from stakeholders on its needs assessment as required by <br />statute; <br />To highlight the accomplishments and work of the two Basin <br />Roundtables; <br />To provide the basis for additional companion products such as <br />presentations, web-based content, media stories, and conference <br />displays; <br />Basin Account Funds: <br />This proposal accomplishes this statutory requirement by: <br />--Providing a common platform for roundtable members to <br />communicate information regarding the needs assessment and <br />other basin issues to stakeholders; <br />--Distributing information to stakeholders on mechaiusms by <br />which they can provide input on the needs assessment. <br />Accomplishing Roundtable Goals: <br />Building "wet-water" projects will benefit from a lalowledgeable, <br />supportive public as many projects will require public input and <br />comment; <br />Approval and funding of water projects will require that legislators <br />and other decision-makers across the state understand the unique <br />challenges of the South Platte basin; <br />Roundtables need the assistance of a common platform to <br />accomplish the required involvement of stakeholders; <br />10 <br />
