A~urch 2006 RCCD Upper Yumpu Rda~er Burin lmplemen<utian Plan • 23 <br />• Conduct work session to edit anti finalize brochure. <br />• • Prepare brochure for printing. <br />• Have brochure printed and distributed throughout Routt County. <br />Required Resources: Computer access; printing. <br />Project Budget Estimates: $25,000 <br />Potential Funding Sources: RCCD, C~~/A, Routt County, 319 Funds <br />Implementation Schedule: Spring 2007 <br />5.3 CONSERVATION TOURS <br />Project Description: RCCD conducted conservation tours in the summer of 2005, in conjunction <br />with their public meeting. The purpose of the tours was to give residents an opportunity to visit <br />actual sites where conservation practices had been successfully implemented. The tours featured <br />several water projects, including the Fre°ntress streambank protection project and the Cary Ditch <br />project. Conservation practices implemented at the sites included in-stream rock structures, bank <br />sloping, revegetation, fencing and irrigation diversion. <br />Approumately 50 residents attended the tours and participated in the public meeting. The feedback <br />was positive and many participants requested that RCCD continue to conduct sunilar conservation <br />• tours in the future. Under this project, RCCD would continue to conduct conservation tours with <br />their annual meeting. <br />Management Team/Project Partners- RCCD, CACD, NRCS, Routt County ~`Ueed Advisory <br />Board, CSU County Etitension Office, Routt County Environmental Health <br />Major Project Tasks: <br />• Acquire funding. <br />• Conduct kick-off meeting ~vit:h management team (see above).
