Cor~apletecl Cross-vcryzes itz Lo~~~er ~S'zab-Recreh of ~S7a Creek. <br />Following the constn~ction of the cross-vanes, the stabilization of 1700' of stream bank <br />and restoration of areas adjacent to the main channel of the upper Slci Creels drainage was <br />begtm in early August. All work was completed by volunteer hand crews from the Sierra <br />Club, Sanborn Camps, and the Odyssey School as well as a team from the Roclcy <br />Mountain Youth Corps (RNIYC). Approximately 85 tons of native and purchased rock <br />material was used to build retainng walls and armor chaiulel bai~lcs all along the stream <br />corridor. In addition 4,860 square feet of erosion control matting was laid along with'/4 <br />acre of seed, soil amendment, and over 100 native plants transplanted. <br />The breakdown of hours used in completing this part of the project is as follows: <br />• Volunteer hand crews contributed 262 person hours to lay erosion control <br />matting, seed, and Bio-sol to restore and stabilize chamlel banks. <br />• A Roclcy Mountain Youth Corps team worked 400 person hours in completing <br />rock retaining walls and armoring chamlel bai~lcs. <br />• In total, 662 person hours over 10.5 days were used to prepare and complete <br />stabilization of the 1700' of stream chamlel in the upper Sl~i Creek drainage. <br />x <br />Fig~~re 2 a~~d 3.
