Colorado River Water Conservation District
Hydro - Climate Studies and Predictions
(for select stations) in April to September within the basin to the following hydro-
climate indices. These relationships will be calculated for the Dolores -San Juan and
Rio Grande basins as well as the basins and specific sub - basins for the Colorado,
Gunnison, and Yampa -White River basins inside the state of Colorado.:
• Alultivariate ENSQ Index (NISI) for the periods of three and five -year averages
in concurrent and leading modes with the observed demand factors.
• Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) for similar periods as MEI,
• North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) for similar periods as 1NIEI,
• Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) for similar periods as A]EI,
• Atlantic Multi- decadal Oscillation (AMO).
Deliverables:
• Defined quantitative relationships between the HCI's and
the basin average monthly precipitation and monthly days
with > 0.10" precipitation* (at select stations). This data will
be provided in a Microsoft Excel format.
++ Defined quantitative relationships between the HCI's and
basin average monthly temperatures and number of days
with highs > 90F* (at select stations). This data will be
provided in a Microsoft Excel format.
• A written report outlining the results and a preliminary
`guideline' for usage. In addition a presentation of the
results, preferably to be presented at the June 2007 Cy \'(-'B
board meeting.
*Note: The use of 90F and 0.10" for meteorological parameters for
defining demand may be changed on a basin and /or sub -basin basis
based on the climatology of the basin /sub- basin.
Task Cost estimates
The cost for each of the four tasks is presented below as a lump sum amount:
Task A: Development of the hydro - climate indices
and basin demand relationships:
Task B: Development of the hydro - climate indices
response and basin demand relationships:
Report from results and `guidelines' of Tasks A anc
CWCB board meeting):
Total:
- seasonal basin response
$ 14,500
— two -year seasonal basin
$ 13,000
l B (written and verbal at
$ 10,000
$ 37,500
Estimated time of completion is projected to be 90 days after NTP is provided.
HDR Page 4
