Boulder County, City of Boulder, <br />Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) <br />and the District 6 Water Users <br />Association (D6WUA) all see the need <br />to engage citizen volunteers in aiding <br />them in their efforts to control EWM and <br />other invasive species. <br />Volunteers ~~or11 ~~ith the Cin_-° of Boulder <br />Mountain Parrs and <br />Open Space to remove Eurasianti~atennilfoil <br />fiom Boulder Creek <br />4e. Creek Clean-ups <br />Although many of the communities within the Boulder Creek watershed have instituted Creek <br />Clean-ups involving local residents (BCWI does so up to four times a year), The Town of <br />Nederland could use help with theirs and the Town of Superior would like to institute a Creek <br />Clean-up involving their residents. The CU Environmental Center might be interested in <br />cleaning up Boulder Creek on the University of Colorado's east campus. <br />Volunteers assist BCWI in last years Earth Da~~ Boulder Creek Clean-up <br />4f. Assessments <br />By assessing the health of riparian and instream areas, volunteers would become more aware of <br />the physical attributes of a healthy stream ecosystem. Examples of opportunities for habitat <br />assessments are: <br />• The US Forest Service would like to involve mountain bikers in assessing the state of <br />riparian habitats that border Forest Service roads in the high country, <br />9 <br />
