Colorado Ui~lch Ii'etlanc~s Beach Test <br />Tech»~cal ~1len~oranc~rin~ <br />TOT aliquots are grab samples taken in the same manner as MA, but they- will be preserved ~~; ith <br />Nitric Acid (HNO~) to a pH < 2. Each TOT sample is to be stored in a 4°C environment until <br />shipment to ACZ. Sample labels were placed on all TOT aliquots, and chains of custodies (COC) «%ill <br />be filled out as specified b~- this ~~-ork plali. The total metals anahrsis includes the folio«-ing: <br />Aluminum <br />Calcium <br />Copper <br />Iron <br />Manganese <br />Zll1C <br />Aliquots collected for DISS samples will be collected in bottles supplied bye ACZ. Each aliquot will <br />be sampled by- CMC NRM and/or TU personnel by- attaching a peristaltic pump to the effluent tube <br />and filtering each aliquot through a O.45µ filter. Duplicate DISS samples will be taken from cells as <br />specified in the sampling schedule (Appendix B). The DISS aliquots are to be preserved ~~-ith HNO; <br />to a pH < 2 and refrigerated to 4°C. The DISS samples «~ill be labeled and shipped in the same <br />manner as TOT samples. The dissolved metals anal~-sis includes the following: <br />Aluminum <br />Calcium <br />Copper <br />Iron <br />Manganese <br />Zinc <br />Sample identification nomenclature will be in the following format: <br />X~YYZZ-A-B -rear (XX), month (YY), day (ZZ) -Cell number (A) - Analy-te (B) <br />For example, Cell # 1 aliquots collected on August 23, 2006 ~~ i11 be labeled as: <br />060823-1-TOT (Total Metals); 060823-1-DISS (Dissolved Metals); 060823-1-504 (Sulfate); <br />060823-1-MA (Acidity-). <br />Duplicate samples will be labeled in the following format: <br />XXYYZZ-AD-B -Near (XX), month (YY), day- (ZZ) -Cell number duplicate (AD) - Analvte (B) <br />Field Blanks ~~i11 be labeled in the follo«-ing format: <br />X~YYZZ-FB-B -year (XX), month (YY), dayT (ZZ) -Field Blank (BK) - Analvte (B) <br />2.6 Sampling and Field Equipment <br />The following sampling and field equipment should be used when taking water samples from the <br />bench cell. <br />Water quality- sampling equipment: <br />• Calibrated water quality- (pH/S.C./Temp./ORP) meters. <br />• Sampling containers supplied by- ACZ. <br />10 CMC NRM <br />
