The subsequent <br />weights were recorded in pounds. The ingredients were thoroughly homogenized by <br />mixing and tightly compacted into the five cells to approximately three inches below the <br />fill line. Cells were then be saturated to approximately one inch above the substrate with <br />Colorado Gulch water and allowed to incubate for twenty days. The incubation time is <br />important to allow bacteria in each cell to establish a strong population prior to the test <br />period. <br />1.4 Summary of Results <br />The bench test was successfully conducted over a period of eight weeks with the <br />exception of Cell 1 which was delayed by five weeks due to leakage of the cell <br />constn~ction. All five cells exhibited successful removal of Al, Cu, and Zn. As shown in <br />Table 2, final zinc removal (weeks 7 and 8) were >50%. <br />Table 2.
