Therefore,
the total wells targeted for measurement in Phase 4 was 115 with 101 of those wells being
successfully measured.
Many wells in t11e DWR water level measurement network are not measured directly by the
State. Water level measurements from approximately 100 wells (of the 269 in the DWR
monitoring network) are solicited from individual municipalities, water conservancy districts or
other entities. To keep consistent with the State's water level data collection protocols, the wells
typically measured by the State were measured under this task, and wells typically solicited by
the State were solicited by CDM under this task.
Table 1 identifies the number of wells targeted to be measured and those successfully measured
u1 each Phase of autumn water level measurements, differentiated by whether they were
measured by CDM staff or solicited. Additionally, t11e number of wells t11at are completed in
the alluvium and in bedrock are noted in Table 1. Details on the field and solicited water level
measurements are described in the following sections.
Table 1: Fall Measurements Obtained Under Task 39
Type of P11ase 2 (2004) Phase 3 (2005) Phase 4 (2006)
measurement QAL BR QAL BR QAL BR
Measured by CDM 3 69 5 67 5 65
Solicited 0 11 0 18 11* 20
Total 3 80 5 85 16 85
QAL indicates alluvial wells, BR indicates bedrock wells
wells in Poudre basin were solicited from City of Thornton and added to candidate list
1.1.1 Water Level Measurement Methods
Water levels collected in this task were measured using equipment and procedures equal or
sinular to those used by the State in their water level monitoring program.
