Table A-6. NHDWaterbody Class
Attribute Description Type
A numeric code that uniquely identifies a reach. This 14-
digit code has 2 parts: the first 8 digits are the hydrologic
unit code for the subbasin in which the reach is located;
the last 6 digits are a sequentially ordered, arbitrarily
ReachCode assigned number. Provides a handle for linking additional esriFieldTypeString
descriptive information to a water body. Theoretically, a
single water body reach may be composed of one or more
polygons. However, in practice, each water body is
assigned a separate reach code (based on discussions with
USGS ersonnel).
Unique identifier associated with descriptive feature type.
Feature types included in this table are: Area of Complex
FType Channels, CanaUDitch (2-dimensional), Estuary, Ice Mass, esriFieldTypeInteger
Lake/Pond, Reservoir, Sea/Ocean, Swamp/Marsh,
Streaill/River (2-dimensional), Playa, and Wash.
Unique five-digit code associated with teat description
FCode that contains all feature characteristics and values (e.g., esriFieldTypeInteger
"Reservoir: Reservoir T e = A uaculture".)
Page 17 of 17 ~IZlverslde Technnlo~yv Inc.
4s':rkv Resuurce.s Ergmee: mg end ~C9 nsuNrng
