Table A-2. HydroPoint Class
Attribute Description Type
Not populated -the reach concept does not apply to point
ReachCode data and inclusion on this attribute in documentation appears esriFieldTypeString
to be an error.
Unique identifier associated with descriptive feature type
(e.g., Gate, Underpass, Well). A complete list of feature
types and the corresponding delineation (i.e., point, line,
FType area) is provided in Appendix A of the NHD User's Guide esriFieldTypeInteger
at http://nhd.usgs.gov/chapterl/chpl_data_users_guide.pdf
(although this document was written for NHDInArc, the
information also a lies to NHDInGeo).
Unique five-digit code associated with text description that
contains all feature characteristics and values. The general
format of the feature code is FFFCC, in which FFF is the
three-digit code for a feature type. CC is the two-digit code
for a combination of values for characteristics associated
with a feature type. If only the feature type is identified,
these last two digits are assigned the value "0". For
example, the feature type "Dam/Weir" has the three-digit
identifier "343". This number serves as the first three digits
FCode of the feature code. A code of "34300" is used if no esriFieldTypeInteger
characteristics are encoded for the feature. A feature
classified as "Dam/Weir" also may have the characteristic of
"Construction Material" with the values of "earthen" and
"nonearthen"
and the characteristic of "Operational Status"
,
with the values of "operational" and "under construction".
The codes used to encode the combinations of values are:
Dam/Weir Ouerational Status
Operational Under Construction
Earthen 34301 34302
Nonearthen 34303 34304
Page 15 of 17 ~fifversFde TeChnnlo~yv ffTC.
4s':rkv Resuurce.s Ergmee: mg end ~C9 nsuNrng
