Mike Shimmin: Two questions: 1) Three of the basins have these
publications done with other funds, where did that money come
from and why should we have to pay to get this done for us?
Nicole Seltzer: In the past, CWCB has included publication of a
citizen's guide and basin issue in the past; told that CWCB is
restructuring that budget; thus told to take out one of the basin's
issue and citizen's guide from that budget; we are moving into era
when we need to diversify our budget and these funds will not be
available.
We will go to another basin next year and ask them to fund.
Mike Shimmin: Question 2) Two potential alternatives for content
of this issue: issues of the basin, to educate people about issues that
the basin faces and the other is the process that the Roundtable
embraces and not sure what your focus is.
Nicole Seltzer: Focus would be on issues that the basin faces, but
also on Metro and South Platte Basin Roundtable and the work
they do; but we need member from Metro and South Platte before
we decide on focus.
Mike Shimmin: It would be important to us as to what target this is
designed to hit.
Bill Jerke: Motion is in front of us.
Vote: Motion carries unanimously.
Mike Shimmin: Should we designate a person for this purpose?
Nicole Seltzer: That person will need to dedicate 8-10 hours to
read the text.
Bill Jerke: Would it be smmi to have a possible committee instead
of one person?
Jim Y aIm: We can have one point person, then have small
committee.
Mc Vicker volunteers to be on editing committee; Committee
volunteers include: Janet Bell, Harold Evans, Sasha Charney, Jim
Hall, Bob Streeter, Jim Y ahn (Note: If recorder neglected to put
your name on the list, please let me know.)

. Membrane Treatment Work Group--Zero Liquid Discharge Pilot
Projects-Letter of Support for Statewide Account
Dave Akers and Phil Brandhuber (HDR Engineers)
Not here to ask for money today; here to ask for "political support";
we will be pursuing state-wide funding and therefore a letter of
support to CWCB is purpose
--Issue: Increasing muni and industrial demands cannot be met with
existing supplies; therefore, see demand pushing toward lower quality
waters; nevertheless, muni demands are for high quality water or for
high degree of treatment; therefore, Reverse Osmosis (RO)
membranes can improve supply.

12
