Questions:
Bob Streeter: Has the education committee seen this proposal?
Nicole Seltzer: Yes, we have used some of the 1400 funds for
state-wide education focus; but as this is focused on the South
Platte basin, decided basin account funds would be best; I am on
that committee and we have not yet presented this to the education
committee;
Mike Applegate: Will speak in suppOli of this application; the
CFWE has a sterling representation as being non-advocacy group
and they have an excellent reputation for presenting information to
the public.
Nicole Seltzer: CFWE has a standard process to creating these
drafts; we would ask that one member from the South Platte
Roundtable and the Metro Roundtable be part of the committee
that focuses on what would be included;
Bob Streeter: Agree that the quality of the product is top-notch;
however, concern is 6,500 copies is not enough; in addition to the
magazine, that does not really reach more people, what about
additional companion products, such as presentations, or kiosks,
would this be additional costs?
Nicole Seltzer: The budget does include some distribution costs
and presentations;
Bob Streeter: Website?
Sasha Charney: You did mention that you could do a power point
presentation that would be available; could we have the articles
available online?
Nicole Seltzer: All the articles are available on the web site,
perpetually. We could do a press release; and other sources you
might need.
Harold Evans: Move that we authorize $16,019
BeIi Weaver and Jim Yahn: Second
Bill Jerke: Timing wise, when do you need to know about money?
Nicole Seltzer: I will be presenting to CWCB next Thursday and
would like them to know what funding we have secured.
Bill Jerke: Nicole mentioned the edition that has to do with climate
change? Did you present all sides?
Nicole Seltzer: Out in June; yes we interviewed all sides.
Marc from the Corn Growers: I also use the magazine and attest to
its quality; cost of issue?
Nicole Seltzer: about $1 per issue.
Joe Frank: should we think about putting more money in for
additional issues?
John Metli: I would agree.
Nicole Seltzer: We have until September before going to print.

11
