Irrigated Lands Classification Refinement Procedure
2.5.2 Classification of Irrigated Crops
The crop classification was hierarchical, combining multi-temporal NDVI signature analysis techniques,
multi-spectral information from the individual Landsat TM images, GIS data (i.e., parcel data), as well as
other ancillary data in a combined MLC and rule-based classification procedure. In addition, inputs of
water commissioners, water users, ditch companies, and field observations were used to refine the
classification map.
Page 15 of 45 ~Rlversfde FecAnotogy, fnc.
4'JaYer Resources Errgi~ecr:np an~i CansuFlrnp
Preliminary Irrigated Lands
Classification (Initial Mask)
Multitemporal NDVI Image
Composite
