Phase II Activities
The Phase II user involvement program will include the following activities.
Advisory Committee Coordination . Interaction with the technical subcommittees is a valuable
means for communicating progress and resolving issues through feedback. Such
communications are expected to continue during Phase II under the direction of CRDSS project
management and task leader guidance.
The schedule for advisory committee coordination is per the direction of the CRDSS
management team and the task leaders, and will be on-going throughout Phase II.
Meetings with User Groups . A series of meetings are expected with user groups with an
(initial) emphasis on water rights planning and modeling. There are expected to be two series
of meetings in the Gunnison River basin, and one series of meetings in each of the other
divisions. The intent is to identify water management issues in each division, and in the
Gunnison basin to address issues and details of water rights modeling. Other CRDSS topics
will be addressed as well. The meetings will be organized under the direction of the CRDSS
task leaders.
The schedule for meetings with user groups in the divisions is targeted for July in the Gunnison
River basin with follow-up there in the fall, possibly October. The other division meetings are
targeted for August and September.
Group Workshops . Group workshops will be held to address the refinement of the CRDSS
scenarios for water rights planning, interstate compact administration, consumptive use
modeling, and the annual operations plan. Members of the workshops will consist of the
CRDSS development team and State management team, those members of the TAC and
technical subcommittees who wish to participate, as well as other potential users. The
workshops will involve a structured review of background information, and the candidate
scenario definitions including the CRDSS functionality expected to be provided. The workshop
will then involve a walk-through of the scenarios in order to establish a common understanding
and consensus on CRDSS procedures to address.
Group workshops on scenario refinements are targeted for June and July.
Written Documentation . The CRDSS Summary Report is expected to be completed and
published by August 1994. Other published materials may be prepared, as needed.
mosaic
Briefing Room Prototype . The interactive tutorial will be initiated at the State's
CRDSS Briefing Room. Content of the tutorial will include information on CRDSS prototype
functionality. Various demonstration sessions will be conducted to assist users and other
interested persons in gaining an understanding of the CRDSS. Feedback from these users will
be sought.
The schedule for establishment of the Briefing Room prototype is targeted for July. At that
mosaic
time selected informational materials will be established (e.g., tutorial), and
demonstration sessions can be begin. Thereafter, periodic upgrades to the demonstrations will
occur as the CRDSS developers provide products and functionality required for the CRDSS.
4
A275 05.10.94 1.05-27 Johnson
