CRDSS <br />TASK MEMORANDUM 1.14-6 <br />Consumptive Use Model <br />Consumptive Use Model Year 1 Summary <br />1.0 ISSUE <br />This task memorandum summarizes the progress made on the consumptive use (CU) model from May to <br />December of 1994. <br />2.0 DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />Phase I (Jan-April 1994) <br />Subtask 1: Develop CU Model Evaluation and Selection Criteria <br />Eleven possible CU models were identified. <br />? <br /> <br />A list was generated for categories estimated by the CU model, and a matrix to evaluate the <br />? <br />capabilities of each model was developed. <br /> <br />Task Memorandum 1.14-03 was prepared to document evaluation criteria. <br />? <br />Subtask 2: Gather Information About the Models Based on the Selection Criteria <br />The source code for all models was obtained. <br />? <br /> <br />Documentation for CU models was evaluated. <br />? <br /> <br />The models were compiled on PCs and/or UNIX workstations. <br />? <br />Subtask 3: Review the Feasibility Study and Determine the Model Needs. <br />The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation?s (USBR's) Methods Manual was thoroughly reviewed, <br />? <br />particularly the technical appendixes. <br /> <br />Reports on the evapotranspiration (ET) of meadow grass from Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and <br />? <br />Colorado were reviewed. <br />Subtask 4: Evaluate Models Based on Criteria Developed in Subtask 1 <br />The technical subcommittee's recommendations for the models were incorporated. <br />? <br /> <br />A data set to evaluate the models was developed and the models were run with the data set. <br />? <br /> <br />The models were evaluated according to criteria. <br />? <br />1 <br />A 275 01.09.95 1.14-6 Lange <br />
