Russell Ueorge, Director of Colorado Department of Natural Resources. presented a discussion <br />on the $10 million/ti~ear IBCC grant requests ($40 million total). <br />2. Don Carlson of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy Dist<ict (Northern), discussed <br />Northern's plan to take over the Bureau of Reclamation's operations and maintenance of the <br />Colorado Big Thompson project, elcept for operations at the Ureen Mountain Reservoir. <br />3. ,Tim Pearce of the Colorado River Water Conser~-•ation District made a presentation on the Ureen <br />Mountain Reservoir pump back. <br />4. A motion was made to request the Colorado congressional delegation to ensure that the Urand <br />Junction office of the Bureau of Reclamation maintain oversight of the Ureen Mountain <br />Reservoir operations and maintenance. <br />July 2d 2006 <br />Bill Bates. Denver Water Board, discussed the 2006 Shoshone power plant agreement between <br />the City of Denver and Public SeI-~-ice Company (Xcel) in which Denver secured a call reduction <br />of up to X50 cfs at the Shoshone power plant between March 20 and Mav 20 each ti~ear in years <br />that Denver Water's projected resery°oir storage capacity is less than 80%. The ach~al water <br />saved will vary from ti~ear to year, due to the complel relationship between XcePs Shoshone call, <br />downstream priorities, water availability at diversion points and ach~al native flow available in <br />the stream. Dave Merritt estimates that the a~eement mati~ generate G.000 to 10,000 malimum <br />additional acre feet for Denver in any year that Denver Water's projected resel-~~oir storage <br />capacit~• is less than 80%. <br />2. Bob Smith, news anchor for KKCT television station in Urand Junctiol~, made a presentation to <br />promote Urand Valley Lake, a proposed 19,000 acre foot resel-~~oir on Orchard Mesa. <br />3.
