Provide a bxief descri Lion of our or anization: The Ruedi water and Power Au~.arity ~RwAPA} is a quasi-governmental body organized under Sections 29.1 201, et seq. C.R.S. 1998. The Town of Basalt Finance Department provides frnancial oversight services to RwAPA. RwAPA was fanned in 1951 ~. accordance with then~current Colorado Statutes and its current Board consists of elected a:~.cials from three counties eagle, Pitkin, Garfield} and eve municipalities Aspen, Tawn of Snowmass village, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs} in the Roaring Fork valley. RwAPA has an annual budget of approximately $30,044 which is funded by member cont~.butions, Special project finding is provided by grants or special member assessments. RwAPA is staffed by one part-time director and contracts wig cons~.tants fox special projects. The mission of die Ruedi water and Power Authority is to provide organizational resources for local governments to address water issues ~. a un~.fied, cooperative and mutually supportive manner. More specifically, the Authority provides the following: - A regularly~convened forum for local elected officials to trade information an water issues of concern - A m:echan~.sm for addressing local water n~anagernent and planniiag issues through a central paint of contact - An information source for water•related issues and concerns ~ Representation to water management bodies such as the 1177 State watershed Roundtables, the Colorado watershed Association., the Roaring Fork watershed Collaborative, the Colorado River water Conservation District and the Coloradowater Conservation Board - A website which provides information on local water resources and links to other sources of information ~ A means of furthering public education about water The Ruedi Water and Power Authority ~RwAPA} has acted for 25 years as an agency for information sharing, regional water planning and water management coordination in the Roaring Fork valley. The Authority meets quarterly to receive updates on projects and local
