collabo~°ative, cor~serrszrs~-based ar~d f rlly defehsible ire terms of zts~ s~ciehtific accz~~•acy, r~eut~•ality arad
comprehensiveness. The Plan ~~~ill ackno~~~ledge the connections betw~eejr the Rowing Fork watershed
and the surrounding region and ~~~~Il recognize that entities based outside the ~~~atershed have
legitimate interests in the valley's ~~~aters ".
Finally, as previously mentioned staff has not completed a review of the final Phase 1 report. While this is
still a concern the magiutude of this issue is reduced based on resolution of the other issues that were
identified by staff in the March 2008 application.
Issues/Additional Needs:
• Staff recommends that the Scope of Work provide a little more detail for each task outliiung how the
task will be completed, and what methods will be used to complete the tasks.
• Please provide additional detail on the use and purpose of the "other" budget line.
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of up to $40,000 to assist in completing Phase 2 of the Roaring Fork Watershed
Plan. Approval is contingent on successful resolution of the items in the issues/additional needs section.
All products, data and information developed as a result of this grant must be provided to CWCB in hard
copy and electronic format as part of the project documentation. This infoniiation will in turn be made
widely available to Basin Roundtables and the general public and will help promote the development of a
common technical platform.
Staff would like to acknowledge and express its deep gratitude and appreciation for the professionalism
exhibited by the applicant, Mark Fuller.
9
