Gave us a brief update about the flume and flooding <br />issues in Cree de, CO <br />. Steve Van Diver peak occurred on May 22 at 1100 <br />CFS. On May 26 and 27'h the crib log structure with a <br />pipe in it that served as a dam was overtopped and <br />failed. <br />. Left with a wooden flume with a metal flange at the <br />end of it and it dropped to the stream bed <br />approximately 40 feet. <br />. On west Willow Creek had scouring around the county <br />road bridge abutments upstream and downstream. Lost <br />part of the county road washed out upstream of the <br />bridge. On the east branch of Willow Creek a portion <br />of a metal culvert was washed out as a result a large scour hole developed. <br />. The County went in and put Jersery barriers to divert flows away from that hole. The NRCS <br />is going to help under EWP place rip rap at seven key locations. <br /> <br />Urban Draina2e & Flood Control District - Kevin Stuart <br />. One pending threat is along Sand Creek at Quebec Street. A drop structure blew out August <br />18th last year. Rain this year has compounded the problem and Sand Creek is flowing <br />underneath a capped sanitary system. <br /> <br />CWCB - Drou2ht Pro2ram - Kathie Hepp-Lucki <br />. Kathi gave us an update on HB 1070 that changed the duties of the Conservation and <br />Drought Program at the CWCB. This bill also developed a water conservation planning <br />assistance program that has grant money to local governments. The guidelines and proposals <br />for consideration will develop after July 1,2005. <br /> <br />Next Meetin2 Dates <br />. The Flood Task Force has concluded for 2005 season but could be reconvened in the event of <br />significant statewide flooding. <br />. The CWCB will work with Jack Byers, Deputy State Engineer and Water Availability Task <br />Force Members to schedule the next meeting. Members will be notified via email once the <br />next meeting is set. <br />. Larry Lang steps down as Chair of the Colorado Flood Task Force.
