. It was pointed out that the priority will still fall to the when the State
Engineer's Office (SEa) says that water will be released but there is some
flexibility of when the Cooperators will call the water out.
. Question from Rick to Tom R: What is your timeframe for having the
Mitigation Plan done? Tom R thinks it will be sometime in March when
most of this will come together but he did not give a firm deadline.
. Question from Dave to Tom R and Steve: Is the FWS going to be flexible
on these issues? Steve feels like they will buy off on this.
. Eric is looking at what it would take to raise the main road based on the
5,444 foot elevation. He is also still looking at a berm that would protect
the trees and getting an estimate on tree removal as well.
. Bill Ruzzo (Denver Botanical Gardens at Chatfield) found two more plant
communities that he wants to consider for mitigation and will give those to
Gary to be included in Chapter 3.
. Cecily Mui (South Suburban Parks and Recreation and South Platte Park)
pointed out that long term monitoring and ecological data at the South
Platte Park facility exists. It includes data on waterfowl, migratory birds,
and other ecological factors. The data is in raw form but she can give it to
anybody who is interested. Eric thinks some of this info might have been
looked at when examining downstream benefits but it is important to
review the data for due diligence related to mitigation efforts. Rick asked
Cecily if she has any data on the functions of wetlands. She does, and
Tom R said he would like to look at costs for wetland restoration so that
they can consider it in cost estimates. He will coordinate with her to figure
out relevant information. Tom B. encourages anyone who finds the data
relevant to contact Cecily

4) Recreation Analysis
. The meeting participants agreed that this agenda item had been covered
in detail earlier in the meeting. Dave will follow-up with EDAW to
determine how the Corps' setback requirements were addressed.

5) Wrap-up: Summary of Next Steps and Next Meeting Date
. Rick asked for an update on the funding and contracts. Eric said the
federal funding will be spendable in about a week and a half and there are
no worries about funding at this point. This particular funding is the
change order money and it should be enough to carry everyone through
the rest of the project.
. Eric is expecting a draft of the Ground Motion Study within a week or two.
It is being prepared by William Lettice and Associates. It could affect the
scope in a good way if they find that ground motion is less than in other
studies in the area. Tom B. said that the CWCB will pay the
approximately $100,000 cost for the study and that they should have
some feeling within the next month or so on what to do next. After the
Ground Motion Study comes out they can get started on the Seismic
Study and hopefully have something ready for internal CaE review by mid

4

Tetra Tech
