. Eric will set up a conference call for the week of March 24 after Chapters 1
and 2 are completed in order to go through the major comments (not
minor comments).
. Ronda Sandquist (Jackson Kelly for Roxborough) said she is asking (via a
formal letter) to reconvene the Water Quality Subcommittee in order to
review comments on the Water Quality Appendix. She pointed out that
the appendix is only based on 2004 data even though there is 15 years of
data available and she wants to discuss this further with the
subcommittee. Eric asked that before the subcommittee meets that the
Cooperators will have a chance to approve the comments they discuss so
that it can be a general consensus.
. Eric said the topographic modification took longer than anticipated and
Tetra Tech is still working on corrections. Money has to get spread out a
little bit farther to cover the unanticipated cost of the Seismic Study. Tom
B. confirmed that the study is a change order on the contract. Eric thinks
that the study will progress in the next week or two and the COE is
currently waiting for the scope of work to get approved. They are still
working on interpreting the results from the Cherry Creek study. This
should give them an idea of what to expect from the Chatfield Seismic
Study. If the Cherry Creek ground-motion study shows results that are
higher than expected this could lead to a more complicated study at
Chatfield.
. Tom B. informed the group that a Socioeconomic Study will be conducted
by BBC Research-it is related to recreation impacts on Chatfield and the
surrounding area. The contract is for $25,000 and the study will be done
by June. The plan is to fold this study into the EIS when the draft comes
out. Once the purchase order is out the vendor has 90 days to give the
product to the State. They study will look at the short-term impacts during
the construction projects and the long-term impacts of the new park. A
50-mile radius around Chatfield will be looked at. There will also be an
academic discussion of aesthetics and what the park will actually look like
with bathtub rings, tree removal and facility relocations. This study is
designed to supplement the EDAW report and will be part of the chapters
and also a technical appendix.
. Betty Peake (CO E) is working with Ken Brink (Chatfield State Park) on the
DVU study and the time frame for getting that done is about the same as
the BBC study. Drafts for both should come out in June.
. Rick pointed out that it will be important for there to be continuity between
the BBC, DVU, and EDAW studies as well as the socioeconomic sections
of the Chapters.
. Eric wrapped up the Project Schedule discussion by reminding the
attendees that they are still looking at February 2009 for the ROD. He
feels like the Cooperators and Agencies have got Headquarter's attention
and he commended the Cooperators for maintaining a high level of focus.

Tetra Tech

2
