Figures 6 and 7 show the radiometer and mCh:orological data from HQ and I{HS for 26
January. The HQ plot shows SLW began to appear at about 0100, reaching depths greater than 02
mm octwl.'Cn 0 I 00 and 0600. Betwl.'t:n 0900 and 1900 the mobile mdiometer took measurements on
top of the Plateau These will be discussed later in the rcpon in a J(:tailed case study of SL W
measurements across seeding plumes on this day The RRS data in Fig. 7 show that temperature was
quite uniftmn throughout the day (-g" to _10" C), and that the wind gradually veered from 250" to
about 300" over the 24 hour period. Wind speed mcrea.<ot..xl from 3 to 6 m S.l between 0400 and 1800,
then dt.-crcascd again to 3 m s.\ by 2400. These \\inds at mountain top level were much more wL"Sterly
than the 700 rob \\inds indicatcd by the closest soundings In Figs. 4 and 5. Betwecn 0900 and 1800
the Doppler sounder detected \..;nds (not shO\\TI) over the plateau that were about 2600al 6 m S.I near
the surface and veered quickly to about 3000 and 9 m S.I, at 300 to 400 m abovc the surface
