<br />~ <br />1") '\ <br /> <br />'I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ei <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1986-87 WORK PLAN <br />SIERRA COOPERATIVE PILOT PROJECT <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Desert Research Institute (DRI) will undertake three primary <br />tasks as part of its involvement in the Bureau of Reclamation's Sierra <br />Cooperative pilot Project (SCPP) in FY-87, These research tasks will <br />be concerned with: (1) the mesoscale meteorology and precipitation <br />of winter storms in the Sierra Nevada; (2) radar observations of the <br />structure of these storms; and (3) measurements of the amount of silver <br />in the snow which has fallen from these storms when seeded with silver <br />iodide, A fourth task is concerned with the overall management of the <br />above listed research, Each of these research tasks involves the <br />collection of data on the winter storms in the Sierra Nevada during <br />the period 3 November 1986 - 9 January 1987 and the analysis and in- <br />terpretation of these data, <br /> <br />It is expected that the analysis and interpretation of the data <br />will be completed by 30 June 1987, A budget is included for each <br />ta sk , <br /> <br />.-/ <br />
