Some personnel may be dispatched to specific <br />field locations to avoid transportation delays if <br />suitable conditions do occur. Others may be placed in a <br />non-duty status to prolong their period of availability <br />during the day. The aircraft pilots, for example, are <br />restricted to a 14 hour duty period during any 24 hour <br />block. A "nowcasting" mode will be immediately entered, <br />and routine monitoring of all weather information sources <br />initiated. If suitable conditions occur, all required <br />personnel will be notified and the scheduled operation <br />will be started. Failing the start of a mission by <br />1700 m.s.t., the Bureau site coorindator and NAWC super- <br />vi sor wi 11 meet once agai n to fu rther revi ew condi t ions <br />and make a decision whether to continue the standby status <br />or terminate for the day. Standby will not be continued <br />beyond 2000 m.s.t. <br /> <br />3. Immediate stand-down of any flight operations for the <br />day, and entry into routine daily ground operations, <br />maintenance and calibration of equipment, data reduction, <br />and data analysis. <br />
