The second person is ares i dent Forest Servi ce <br />e~ 1 oyee whose servi ces wi 11 be obtai ned on a part-t ime basi s. <br /> <br />The thi rd site, near the town of Camp Verde, wi 11 house equipment and <br />personnel to obtain soundings of the atmosphere using a rawinsonde <br />system~ Balloon-borne instrument packages (radiosondes) will be <br />released and tracked throughout their ascent to provide vertical <br />profiles of temperature, moisture, pressure, and winds. The tracking <br />and recording equipment will be contained in a small trailer, while <br />balloon inflation and supply storage facilities will be provided <br />through rental of space in a local aircraft hangar. Personnel <br />operating the equipment will be housed in a travel trailer adjacent <br />to the equipment unit. <br /> <br />In addition to the major sites, precipitation gauges will be deployed <br />at Happy Jack and six other locations as indicated on figure 1. These <br />stations will provide data concerning the timing and distribution of <br />snowfall over the general area. <br /> <br />Ground-to-ground radi 0 communi cat i on between the primary sites will <br />be provided through a leased commercial system.
