~

A very special thanks go to the Research Associates, Graduate Students,

and Staff at CSU who assisted in the program development, data reduction,

analysis, and production of this report. The hard work of Marion Haurwitz

in developing and/or modifying all of the programs used to process and analyze

the radar and aircraft data is especially appreciated. Terry Sanlzin skillfully

performed much of the analysis of the rawinsonde and synoptic data. Taneil

Uttal contributed to both the organization, programming and analysis aspects

of the program. Don Cobb wrote parts of Appendix A describing the Ku-band

operations. Lucy McCall expertly drafted all of the figures and, finally,

Janis Davis patiently typed the many drafts of this report.

~

.

~

a

viii
