<br />'own of Avon <br />. ;.. <br /> <br />Page 2 of <br /> <br />MEETING <br />HELD JUNE 14,2005 <br /> <br />2/24/04 <br />2/10/04 <br />1/2i/04 <br />1/13/04 <br /> <br />The Avon Town Council acting as the Local Liquor Licensing <br />Authority for the Town of Avon, Colorado convened at 5:15 PM <br />at the Avon Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road, Avon, Colorado. A roll call was taken <br />and Board members of the Authority present were Ron Wolfe as Chairperson, and Board <br />members Debbie Buckley, Kristi Ferraro, Mac McDevitt, Amy Phillips, Brian Sipes and Tamra <br />Underwood. <br /> <br />SPECIAL EVENTS PERMITS 0 PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Applicant: Avon Business Association <br />Name of Event: Salute to the U.S.A. <br />Date of Event: July 3, 2005 <br />Location of Event: Nottingham Park <br />Event Manager: Michelle Courtney <br /> <br />Michelle Courtney, ABA representative, presented the application. Staff noted that the <br />application materials were in order. The public hearing was opened, no comments were made <br />and the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Other Business <br />Michelle Courtney addressed the Liquor Board with a request that the Town of Avon share in <br />paying some of the costs related to hiring security for the event. She noted that the ABA paid <br />the costs in full last year and that it was really more than they could afford in light of the fact <br />they are doing this to try to raise funds for the ABA organization. Discussion ensued aboul <br />several items as follows: <br />./ Why was the Town allowing for beer sales? <br />./ What is the role of police vs security in the park 0 how is that divided up between the <br />two groups? <br />Town Manager Larry Brooks noted that the police department plan has been a good one that <br />works for this event; he noted that rather than a budget amendment, he would prefer tc <br />reallocate existing resources. Resident Peter Buckley asked Council not to spend any <br />additional monies on this event, since the taxpayer is footing the bill. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />Board member Ferraro moved to approve the consent agenda; Board member Buckley <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />a. Minutesfrom May 24,2005 Liquor Board Meeting <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE AVON TOWN COUNCIL <br />HELD JUNE 14, 2005 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Town of Avon, Colorado was held at 400 Benchmark Road, Avon, <br />Colorado in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Mayor Ron Wolfe called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM. A roll call was taken and Council <br />members present were Debbie Buckley, Kristi Ferraro, Mac McDevitt, Amy Phillips, Brian Sipes <br />and Tamra Underwood.
